LESSON STRUCTURE:

Snow Cubs is a confidence-building introduction to skiing, designed for early learners ages 5 to 6. This lesson bridges the gap between “little kids” and full youth lessons. These riders are ready to learn real skills, which our team of skilled instructors delivers in a fun, age-appropriate way.

GOAL: Create a safe, positive first experience where young riders learn real skills, feel successful, and get excited to come back for more. Every child progresses differently. Our goal is confidence, safety, and a positive first experience.

What to Expect:

  • Getting comfortable with equipment

  • Standing, sliding, and balancing safely

  • Learning to stop by wedging (pizza)

  • Beginning turns on gentle terrain

  • Building independence and confidence on snow

WHAT PARENTS SHOULD KNOW:

  • Please be sure to arrive, at a MINIMUM, one hour early. This will ensure you have enough time to check in at the front desk to receive your lift ticket and get fitted with equipment. Lines and wait times may be long. You will not be eligible for a refund if you are late to your lesson.

  • Dress your child in warm, waterproof layers, gloves, and ski goggles or sunglasses. Helmets can be rented at the lodge for $15 and are highly encouraged. Goggles may be available for purchase at the lodge. Layering is important, and layers can always be removed if needed.

  • Instructors will guide the lesson; parents can watch from the sidelines but should not join on the snow.

  • Young riders learn best through short activities, encouragement, and lots of movement—expect plenty of stops and starts.

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  • Online reservations are highly recommended. Walk-in bookings may be available, but are not guaranteed.
  • Lessons start promptly at the time listed while booking.
