  • Price: $20 per Homeschool student; must be purchased as part of a Homeschool Days ticket. Rate is not available on any other date.
  • Offered: Fridays at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
  • Length: 1 hour

GOAL:

Leave knowing how to gear up, glide, turn, and stop — ready for your next session on the hill.

LESSON STRUCTURE:

First time on a snowboard? Start here! Homeschool lessons are designed for visitors ages 9+ who have never been on the snow or have some experience with putting on boots, turning, and stopping. Riding the chairlift is not an expectation for Homeschool Lessons.

What to Expect:

  • Gear & Layering Basics – How to dress for the weather, strap in, and carry your board.

  • Getting Comfortable on Snow – Skating, gliding, and balancing on flat terrain.

  • Learning to Control Speed & Direction – Using your heel edge.
  • Learning to Stop Safely – Using your heel edge.

  • Lift Riding 101 – Introduction to safe loading & unloading of the chairlift.

  • Focus on Fun & Safety – Learn mountain awareness, build confidence, and enjoy your first day on snow.

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  • Online reservations are highly recommended. Walk-in bookings may be available, but are not guaranteed.
  • Lessons start promptly at the time listed while booking.
  • Please be sure to arrive, at a MINIMUM, one hour early. This will ensure you have enough time to check in at the front desk to receive your lift ticket and get fitted with equipment, if applicable. Lines and wait times may be long. You will not be eligible for a refund if you are late to your lesson.
  • Please check in at the front desk upstairs at the ski lodge when you arrive.
  • Private, Semi-Private, Beginner, Level 1 and Homeschool Lessons DO NOT INCLUDE a lift ticket or rental equipment. These items will need to be purchased separately in advance of your lesson. Pre-purchasing a lift ticket and rentals is the best way to ensure availability and will save you time when you arrive.
  • Crescent Hill has a no-refund policy. If Crescent Hill closes due to weather during your lesson time, we will work with you to reschedule your lesson.
  • Reschedule requests must be received at LEAST 24 hours in advance by email to info@explorecrescenthill.com. Failing to provide this notice will result in your lesson being canceled without a refund. Lessons may only be rescheduled once.
  • Please be sure to dress appropriately for winter weather. Layers are highly recommended, as are gloves, a hat, and sunglasses or goggles.
