THE BASICS:

Leave knowing how to gear up, glide, turn, and stop — ready for your next session on the hill.

 

LESSON STRUCTURE:

First time on skis? Start here! Beginner Lessons are designed for visitors ages 12+ who have never been on the snow or perhaps have some experience with putting on boots, wedging, turning, and stopping. A lift ticket and rental equipment are NOT included as part of your lesson and will need to be purchased separately. There is no expectation of riding the chairlift.  

What to Expect:

  • Intro to Gear & Dressing for the Weather – How to layer, buckle boots, and handle your equipment.  

  • Getting Comfortable on Snow – Sliding, balancing, and moving safely on flat terrain.  

  • Learning to Stop – Ski: Wedge (pizza) stop.  

  • Making Your First Turns – Ski: Wedge turns. Snowboard: Garland and sideslip turns 

  • Focus on Fun & Safety – Build confidence, learn terrain awareness, and enjoy your first glide. 

 

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  • Reservations must be booked in advance online. Walk-ins are not available. 

  • Lessons start promptly at the time listed while booking. 

  • Beginner and Level 1 lessons do NOT INCLUDE a lift ticket or rental equipment. These items will need to be purchased separately in advance of your lesson. Pre-purchasing a lift ticket and rentals is the best way to ensure availability and will save you time when you arrive. 

  • Please be sure to arrive, at a MINIMUM, one hour early. This will ensure you have enough time to check in at the front desk to receive your lift ticket and get fitted with equipment. Lines and wait times may be long. You will not be eligible for a refund if you are late to your lesson.  

  • When you get onsite (one hour early!), make sure to head to the front desk upstairs at the ski lodge to check-in.  

  • Crescent Hill has a no-refund policy. If Crescent Hill closes due to weather during your lesson time, we will work with you to reschedule your lesson.  

  • Reschedule requests must be received at LEAST 24 hours in advance by email to info@explorecrescenthill.comFailing to provide this notice will result in your lesson being canceled without a refund. Lessons may only be rescheduled once.

  • Please be sure to dress appropriately for winter weather. Layers are highly recommended.  

 

The purchase of a lesson or lift ticket does not guarantee rentals will be available.  Guests needing to purchase rental equipment should ensure that rental equipment is available by adding rental equipment to their cart prior to finalizing their purchase. Guest who pre-purchase rental equipment online will receive priority when they arrive.
